ABSTRACT

Energy supply is one of the main challenges of governments. To achieve a high level of energy security, regional and global collaboration is one of the important strategies. This means energy has a direct effect on regional and global political relations and economic development. In such an environment, energy importers and exporters attempt to have more effect and influence on the world and regional situations. One untapped scope in the field of energy policy and collaboration is “Energy Diplomacy.” This paper discusses how diplomacy can improve energy security and resilience. A conceptual model is presented to describe different domains of energy diplomacy and explain the relations among the levels, strategies, and research areas from an energy security perspective.
