ABSTRACT
The International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives (IASA) was established in 1969 in Amsterdam to function as a forum for international cooperation between archives preserving recorded sound and audiovisual documents. This entry looks at the beginning years of IASA and its growth from nine founding members to an independent organization with a membership of more than 400 members, representing 64 countries.
