ABSTRACT
Libraries in Peru have been the subject of tremendous evolution. The Spanish influence brought the concept of libraries and the printing press, but it was not until the twentieth century when librarianship in Peru was established as a discipline and profession. Library education has grown rapidly and the post-Internet times have produced a very dynamic information society that still requires more consistent library services.
