ABSTRACT
This entry provides a brief historical overview of the emergence of libraries, archives, and museums in Serbia. It describes the current environment of these cultural and information institutions, including their legislation, organization, staffing, collections, automation, and services. Representative institutional profiles are also given. The entry also discusses professional education in library science, library associations, and interinstitutional cooperation.
