ABSTRACT
The goal of sensor and image fusion is to display multiple bands in an intuitive manner that improves the viewer's scene comprehension and emphasizes relevant information. The self-emissive nature of objects in the IR adds another level of complexity to the color-processing algorithms. Preliminary studies in fusion show improvements in target detection and reduced false-alarm rate over single-band images.
