ABSTRACT
This entry provides an overview of the various objects that populate the universe, emphasizing the all-important role of mass at all scales. Several of the historically important catalogs used to identify numerous stellar and nonstellar objects are described. A short description of coordinate systems and a glossary are provided for the reader.
