Designing and administering an attractive yet affordable employee benefits program is vital for public organizations seeking to recruit, retain, and motivate qualified employees. What is more, employee expectations and needs continue to evolve, thus placing greater pressure on employers to seek innovative benefits solutions that meet both organizational and employee needs. Public organizations are responding to these challenges with employee benefits packages that meet employees’ security and safety through traditional benefits and employees’ personal needs through a host of work–life benefits.
