ABSTRACT
This entry describes the basics of the grievance procedure. It provides a discussion of several theoretical perspectives used in grievance procedure research, and reviews literature on grievance initiation, processing, decisions, and outcomes. Then, a brief discussion about grievances and organizational performance is provided. Finally, the grievance mediation, a recent innovation in the grievance procedure, is examined.
