ABSTRACT
This entry describes the main characteristics of strategic planning and management, and points out how they can influence and contribute to productivity. The entry starts with a discussion of two basic ways of approaching strategic planning. It goes on to describe the various steps of a simple model of strategic planning and some of the necessary conditions for getting the most out of it.
