ABSTRACT
This entry provides an overview of the break-in of the Democratic National Committee's headquarters at the Watergate Hotel by five intruders, who were later shown to have connections with President Nixon's Administration. The scandal resulting from this intrusion has had lasting effects upon the public's trust in government.
