ABSTRACT
The field of education policy has become a much more varied, contested process. New initiatives prove to play out differently among various states, as the government attempts to better serve the educational needs of children in the United States. The system of public education has grown from a provincial, nonmandated institution to a wide-ranging system that nearly every American experiences on a multitude of levels throughout their lives.
