Herbert Simon was a central figure in twentieth-century social sciences. He is perhaps best well known for his theory of bounded rationality and foundational work in artificial intelligence. His lifelong focus on decision making led to groundbreaking developments in several fields, including public administration, political science, economics, computer science, and cognitive psychology.
