ABSTRACT

An overview of the state of the art with respect to single-stage plasma-driven catalysis (PDC) of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is presented. The number of studies on the combination of nonthermal plasma (NTP) and catalyst is increasing rapidly, as are the research areas the process is applied to. The first part of this entry addresses the historical development and concept behind the combination of NTP with a catalyst. The second part discusses the understanding of the mechanism of the PDC process and the necessary work required for the extended application of the PDC process to VOC control.
