ABSTRACT

Enzyme immunoassay, a bioanalytical method incorporating an antigen–antibody reaction to capture the analyte of interest and an enzyme reporter system to detect the captured analyte, is one of the most widely used immunoassay formats. The intent of this entry is to present this technique in the context of several primary topics, namely the range of bioanalytical applications, the different validation considerations imposed upon an enzyme immunoassay and offer potential performance enhancements.
