ABSTRACT
The goal of this entry is to provide a general overview of calorimetry and its application in pharmaceutical research and development by first giving a brief introduction to thermodynamics and instrumentation, calibration, and applications. It then moves to a discussion of microcalorimetry and underlying physical or chemical transitions/ reactions.
