ABSTRACT
This entry provides some general information on the history of parenterals, and then moves to a discussion of their use in healthcare, the advantages and disadvantages of using parenterals, routes of administration, vascular access devices and infusion sets, types of parenteral products, injection systems, and various other aspects of parenteral dosage forms.
