ABSTRACT
Targeted drug delivery systems are useful for selective and efficient delivery of pharmacologically active compounds to the predetermined targets in therapeutic concentration along with minimizing side effects of the drug. This entry discusses several methods of oral colon-specific drug delivery and reviews various drug delivery systems.
