ABSTRACT
The development of pharmaceutical products goes through multiple phases. The main focus of early development is to develop a formulation that has a high bioavailability and can be easily manufactured for the early clinical studies. This entry focuses on the scale-up of the different technologies for solid dispersion. It addresses the multiple significant challenges of transitioning between different manufacturing scales and also discusses the science behind spray drying and spray granulation and fluid layering.
