ABSTRACT
However, comprehensive studies are needed that compare water use efficiency of A. donax to various native species under different environmental conditions to determine exactly how much water is lost owing to this invasive plant. Excess water used in A. donax transpiration could be salvaged for groundwater recharge, drinking water supply, agricultural irrigation, and augmentation of in-stream flow for native vegetation and wildlife.
