ABSTRACT

The scientific achievements of Bushland are legion; to it can be attributed the large-scale reversal of land degradation in the United States and the establishment of sound management practices. It was appropriate that the 50th anniversary of this center was marked by a world conference that highlighted progress in soil and water conservation and the challenges that lay ahead for U.S. and international agriculture.
