ABSTRACT
This article stems from my desire to make a complete list of all the research students of G. H. Hardy (1877–1947) and that is still one of its objectives; see §§3–5. However, it occurs to me that it may be of some interest to set down some reminiscences of my association with Hardy during the last ten years of his life, and to add information about his family and ancestry.
