ABSTRACT
After diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis and in absence of suspicion of pulmonary embolism or clinical severe deep venous thrombosis such as phlegmasia alba dolens, the treatment can be initiated in an outpatient setting. In all other cases, the patient must be hospitalized.
