ABSTRACT
Hemorrhagic complications due to excessive doses of antithrombotic therapies can be managed as followed:
■ UFH and low molecular weight heparin: antagonism by protamine sulfate: 1 mg of protamine sulfate inhibits 100 IU of heparin. Careful determination of the protamine dose must be performed due to the antithrombotic effect of protamine and aPTT should be monitored.
