ABSTRACT
Brain metastases may cause signs and symptoms due to their localization or to the increased intracranial pressure. Presence of brain metastases should be suspected in all cancer patients who develop neurologic symptoms. Progressive neurologic dysfunction is usually related to a gradually expanding tumor mass and associated edema or to the development of obstructive hydrocephalus (Table 8.2).
