ABSTRACT

Introduction Febrile neutropenia is defined as a combination of an absolute neutrophil count of less than 0.5 × 109/L (or predicted to decline below 0.5 × 109/L) and an increased temperature, i.e., an oral temperature >38.3oC (101oF), or ≥38.0oC (100.4oF) over at least 1 hour.
