Etiology Chemotherapy regimens with anthracycline antibiotics, such as doxorubicin, epirubicin, daunorubicin and idarubicin, are the most frequent causes of congestive heart failure (CHF). The biventricular CHF, as a consequence of anthracycline-induced cardiomyopathy (AIC), is usually cumulative and doserelated.
