ABSTRACT
The high power vector-controlled cycloconverter-fed synchronous machine drive become more and more popular in low-speed high-torque application and will be the first choice for high power mine hoist gradually. In China, all this kind of control systems has relied on import from abroad for many years. This paper introduces a fully-digital control system cycloconverter-fed synchronous machine drive developed independently in China. This control system was put into use in 2001 and the scheme for solving key problems in application is presented in this paper.
