ABSTRACT

Our research shows that coal mine is a complex sociotechnical system. Therefore, for such complex system, it will be difficult to keep accidents away from occurring by only using traditional methods of safety management, and to realize effective safety management of coal mining. Contemporarily, research on the science of complexity is just at its incipient stage. Therefore, there are not much mature methods and experiences which can be referenced. In this paper, we creatively apply the theories and methods of structure-based science of complexity in the safety management of coal mines, trying to disclose the mechanism of complexity of safety management of coal mining. By means of generating individual ideas in the problem-solving process of complex issues, establishing mind-compatibility problem-solving process, so personal cognitive burden can be reduced, personal decision-making ability can be enhanced. Eventually, it is possible to avoid the accidents.
