ABSTRACT

Different from its use as an attractive flower for horticulture purposes in Europe, chrysanthemum of the Compositae family, in particular its flower, has been used as a traditional medicine in several Asian countries, such as China, Korea, and Japan, for several centuries. The flower of Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat, owing to its broad pharmacological effects as well as its fragrance, is also used as a beveragechrysanthemum tea. This chapter will focus on both the broad and specific pharmacological activities of various components of chrysanthemum, and their potential health implications.
