ABSTRACT
Should law enforcement share crime maps and data? If so, with whom and how? Many people have strong opinions about this subject, although it is a relatively new issue. The controversy is caused by an oil and water mixing of existing public information and privacy laws, traditional law enforcement agency policies and philosophies, and a recent but growing demand for information combined with the technology to allow mass access and distribution.
