ABSTRACT

Bluetooth is an emerging standard for wireless personal area networks (WPANs).17 Bluetooth devices are organized in piconets: a small, centralized network with µ ≤ 8 active nodes or devices.2 One of the nodes acts as the master while the others are slaves, and all communications in the piconet take place under the master’s control. All slaves listen to downlink transmissions from the master. The slave can reply with an uplink transmission if and only if addressed explicitly by the master, and only immediately after being addressed by the master.
