ABSTRACT
Although the conversion of plant lignans, including the flax lignans, into mammalian lignans has been known for more than 20 years, there are still many aspects of this metabolic pathway that are poorly understood and many questions still remain to be answered. In this chapter we will summarize what is known about this metabolic pathway and identify areas for future research.
