ABSTRACT
The interview is one of the original methods for gathering general information, and it has been popularly applied across a range of fields. Common perceptions of interviews are in employment and in the questioning of witnesses to a crime, but they can yield results in any situation where a person’s opinion or perspective is sought. Examples of more diverse uses are in mental health or for presurgical psychological screening (see Memon and Bull, 1999).
