Interview Method book
The interviewing process allows for rich, highly informative, detailed exchanges to take place between researchers and participants. Through the interview, researchers can delve deeply into the world of their subject(s) because they believe the information to be gathered is important. The interview is a window to an understanding of the behaviors of those being interviewed (Seidman, 1998). In macroergonomics applications, the interview method is particularly useful in identifying work-system problems or problem symptoms.
