ABSTRACT

During the last two decades there has been an increasing awareness of the problems arising in the upper limb, wrist, elbow, or shoulder, as a consequence of the continuous use of the muscles and joints during work. First signs were evident in the users of computers. Due to a poor understanding of the tasks involved and inadequate task analyses, these were ascribed to users being work shy, bored, or in one famous phrase in Britain, “egg shell personalities.”
