ABSTRACT
In the offshore industry, where survey work is primarily of a commercial nature, the Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) is just beginning to make an impact. Technical dependability is a high priority in this sector, even more so are cost-efficient solutions, especially in those regions where conventional acquisition methods have reached maturity or are unable to deliver the crucial information upon which engineers depend.
