ABSTRACT

This research is aimed at measuring the efficiency of the ICT-based instructions at the Elementary School Teacher Education Program (ESTEP) and at identifying determinant factors which affect the program efficiency. The factors concerned are the instructional sequence, student’s learning motivation, and the quality of instructional planning. The data source is 1 class of students of Open/Distance Education (O/DL), ESTEP, Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) selected out of 4 classes, as many as 32 alumni. Data were screened by using self-rating scale which consists 40 items. The O/DL ESTEP, SWCU, Salatiga has a high degree of efficiency. Three efficiency determinant models were obtained; 1) the quality of instructional planning, 2) sequence, and 3) student’s learning motivation. This new finding will be very useful for educational quality management concerning its efficiency, effectivity, and productivity of Higher Education.
