ABSTRACT
Initially mouse monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) have been described by Köhler and Milstein 1 and a few years later Galfré et al. 2 extended this technology to the rat system. The field of applications of MAbs spreads out from day to day and it would be illusive to draw up an inventory of all the services they have rendered in fundamental research as in the fields of diagnosis and therapy. 3,4
