ABSTRACT

When considering the problem of purification of a rat monoclonal antibody (MAb), the first element that should be known is its concentration in the ascitic fluid or in the serum, as well as the concentrations of the other polyclonal immunoglobulins (Igs) and serum proteins. The second element which is necessary is a minimum knowledge of its physicochemical nature: isotype of its heavy chain, type of its light chain, isoelectric point, stability, etc.
