ABSTRACT

Neonatally initiated continuous treatment of mice with heterologous anti-IgM antibodies leads to a state of B cell and antibody deficiency. Such mice were initially generated to study B cell ontogeny. 1 - 4 They have also been used to study the contribution of B cells and antibodies in various experimental situations. In this paper, anti-IgM induced humoral immune suppression is reviewed with special emphasis on the use of monoclonal rat anti-mouse IgM antibodies.
