ABSTRACT

The obtainment of a mouse anti-rat IgK-la monoclonal antibody (MAb) (MARK-3) 1 and anti-rat IgKl-b rat MAbs (LO-RK- lb-1) (see Chapter 19.II) can contribute greatly to the study of the survival and localization of cells of B lymphocyte lineage in lymphoid organs (see Chapter 1). For that purpose, B lymphocytes or their stem cells of a kappa allotype were transferred into sublethally irradiated rat recipients of the other kappa allotype (manuscript in preparation). The same techniques could be used for immunoglobulin (Ig) molecules or specific antibodies of the various Ig (sub)classes.
