ABSTRACT

The face is presented as the letter of introduction of any individual, and any modifications suffered will change that individual's self-image. The changes that the face and its frame (the hair) can undergo in patients suffering oncological treatments can cause rapid and acute alterations in the image of women and men suffering from cancer. Although some of these changes are transient, and not clinically serious, they are important to the patient. The word cancer should not be associated with death, since currently more than 60% of all serious malignant tumors (excluding nonmelanoma skin cures) are cured [1].
