ABSTRACT

This piece of research explores the possibility of encouraging community university engagement by applying the methodology of online training and learning. The chapter identifies various university stakeholders who are constantly influencing and getting influenced by community connect practices of the university. A model known as the local and global educational quality circle is also built, which is an online portal for the mobilization of resources among university stakeholders for carrying out projects in community university engagement. The chapter also identifies various civil organizations like UNESCO and PRIA that play a crucial role in assisting universities in providing responsible education. Through case studies, it is proved that universities are capable of developing communities by becoming an agent between government and local communities and providing a transparent bidirectional flow of information between them online. The introduction of e-governance in community university engagement practices could provide universities with transparent and real-time modes for the exchange of ideas.
