ABSTRACT
This paper presents the basic concepts for the development of a Tubular Roof Structure for the João Havelange Olympic Stadium, which will be home of the 2007 Pan American Games in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where the main design criteria were are safety and economy.
