ABSTRACT

Bilbao Exhibition Centre is the new complex that is being built to hold the international exhibitions of Bilbao. It will have 120,000 m2 of exhibition surface, distributed in 6 halls. Extensive use of tubular structures has been made during its construction, amounting to about 5000 tons of steel. Tubular structures have been used mainly in roofs and facades, and also in piping support. The aim of this paper is to describe the design and the erection process of such structures.
