ABSTRACT
British Standard PD 6493 is under review and it is planned to include guidance on the fatigue assessment of tubular joints based on fracture mechanics. In this paper, use is made of a comprehensive set of fatigue crack growth data obtained from tubular steel T-joints under IPB to assess the validity of the methods proposed for predicting the growth of weld toe fatigue cracks in the chord at the crown position.
