ABSTRACT

Different manufacturing processes incur noticeable residual stresses in welded tubes, which will be remarkably detrimental to the service reliability of oil pipeline. It is reported in this paper that the results of residual stress measurement by X-ray, grooving separation, and hole drilling methods for longitudinally electric resistance welded (ERW) tube and spiral seam submerged are welded (SSAW) tube, respectively. The difference among various methods are obvious, but the general trends are the same.
