ABSTRACT

The heart of any digital simulation system is the digital computer. The simulation is carried out either on a general-purpose computer or on a special-purpose computer dedicated to the particular simulation. Types of computers used in simulation include digital and analog computers, as discussed in Sec. 1.3.1. A digital computer processes the data in digital or discrete form and produces results in digital form. An analog computer, on the other hand, processes continuous signals.
