ABSTRACT
This paper discusses the building of embankment on soft soil ground using a lightweight recycled material. By building embankments using this recently developed material, scrap tires can be disposed in large quantities. The large landfill space consumed by scrap tires disposal can be saved. Natural resources can be preserved from much quarrying. From a case analysis, it is demonstrated that the new material significantly improves the behavior of embankment on soft soil ground.
