ABSTRACT

This paper presents the results of on going numerical research on cyclic and dynamic behaviour of saturated sands based on the two phase theory of Biot. An advanced mixed kinematic hardening model is used to simulate most of the observed laboratory and field features of the material. The performance of the formulation is checked by comparison of triaxial numerical and experimental results to show the usefulness and promising way of using an advanced constitutive model. This constitutes the first step achieved in order to use the developed program in the future.
